About the Work
Mosset co-founded a Paris-based art group in the late 1960s that included fellow artists Daniel Buren, Michel Parmentier and Niele Toroni. Called BMPT (an acronym using the initial of their respective surnames), it emerged out of a critical attitude to painting of the day and aimed to establish a new social approach, exemplified by their wish to remove all traces of the artist’s touch and the expressive brushstroke. Ironically some of their work is now remembered for their distinct styles.
