Jörg Sasse employs "found" photographic material for his works. He takes other people's amateur snapshots and manipulates the anonymous images, cropping, blurring or erasing parts, intensifying the colours and breaking down the image into pixels. The resulting photograph creates a false illusion of reality that calls into question the documentary nature of the medium.
In his work 7988, a red car is lined up beside a row of other cars in a parking lot. The strangely blurred and out of focus image of the car creates a sense of motion although the car is parked and apparently has no driver.
