In her new works, Dunja Evers strongly references traditional East Asian landscape painting. The East Asian landscape image is not a representation but a new creation. It's not about reproducing nature, but rather the emotional impression left behind from observing nature. This also applies to Evers images. Like her earlier small formatted landscape paintings, Lost is also a hybrid between film, photography and painting. However, whereas before she focused on the photographical element of her work, now the picturesque aspect comes more to the fore.
