About the Work
The Swiss twin brothers Markus and Reto have been working together since 2005 making installations, photographs, objects and collages. For their collages, as well as using their growing archive of imagery, they search through hundreds of images taken from books and magazines that they find in flea markets or online. The results are often humorous, yet always thought-provoking.
What is their work about? "Our main topics," they say, "deal with the ambivalent relationship between civilisation and nature. This means we take on topical and social questions; hopes, fears, faith and failure of humanity." Is their work a quiet warning about how we live our lives?
