This work is about the disappearance of an island called Pulau Sajahat (evil in Malay). It depicts the land reclamation process in a series of composite images, creating a textured collage of vertical lines that subverts the traditional landscape. As the Swiss Re office is in the Marina Bay financial district, itself a piece of reclaimed land near the sea, this piece has a special resonance with its surroundings. The image also touches on ideas of fluidity, change and openness with the depiction of sand, sea and sky.
