Pigments and Chinese ink and colours on rice paper, 100 cm x 240 cm
Often inspired by nature, especially rocks, his works have started moving from representational forms into semiabstractions noted for their clarity and decisiveness. Birdsong, which is commissioned by Swiss Re, is a rare combination of stability and lightness. The rocks, which is of the green patina colour found in old bronze, are an anchoring force, while the birds perched on top evoke movement, poise and flight.
