In the late 1980s, Swiss Re adopted a more systematic approach to collecting and placing art in its premises. Initially, we concentrated on Swiss contemporary art. As the company’s activities became more global in the 1990s, we branched out into international contemporary art. At the same time, we introduced location-specific art concepts for our offices and began focusing on commissioned artworks conceived with Swiss Re's corporate architecture specifically in mind.
Today, our collection comprises about 3 800 works, including paintings, photographs, sculptures, drawings and graphic art, in key Swiss Re locations around the world. The most prominent projects and installations are in Zurich, Adliswil, Rüschlikon, London, Armonk and New York.
